Burpees for Cancer!

October 5, 2013 at 10am we are sweating for a cure for cancer.

You don’t have to do burpees if you don’t want to. 

But you need to be there!

Burpees for Cancer is an amazing fundraising event taking place on October 5, 2013 at the Portland Adventure Boot Camp for Women gym.

You don’t have to do burpees to help.  You can simply donate or volunteer.

 What is Burpees for Cancer?

Burpees for Cancer is an fundraising event on October 5, 2013 at the Portland Adventure Boot Camp gym. 

Each year, research gets us closer to curing blood cancers.  And funds from generous donors like you really do make a difference.  That’s why we’ve created Burpees for Cancer.  Every dollar that we raise through Burpees for Cancer goes directly to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  And every dollar counts. That’s why we’re counting on your help.

It’s easy to participate and you don’t even have to do Burpees.  All you have to do is click on the link and make a donation or volunteer your time at the event..  You can also purchase raffle tickets.  Because we’re going to be giving away and raffling off amazing prizes at the event.

(We’ve listed some examples below!)

And if you don’t like Burpees but you don’t like cancer more, you can participate in the challenge at the event.  Just get donors: your neighbors, coworkers, friends…anybody to donate any dollar amount for every burpee that you do.  Then just show up to the event and do as many Burpees as you can in 60 seconds….and it’s as simple as that.

    Burpees for Cancer is the brainchild of Daniel Iversen and Tam Driscoll.  The idea is simple.  Have a fundraising contest where participants do as many burpees as they can in a single minute.  Give away prizes, raffle prizes, and have a silent auction for amazing prizes too.

    We figured nobody likes burpees all that much, but they really dislike cancer a lot more.  So they might even be willing to sweat a little for a cure!  You dont have to do burpees of course.  But heck, it’s only 60 seconds of your life to potentially add 6 or even 60 years to someone elses.  Worth it, right?

    Anyone.

    Any age.  Any size.  Any fitness level.

    This event is designed to be fun.  Perfect form on the burpees will not be judged.  Unless you just stand there.

    The number of burpees you do is up to you.  Just ONE makes a difference.

     

  • q-iconWho gets the money raised at the event?

    All proceeds will go to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society: the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. The LLS mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services.
